St. Ignatius Day 2010

The day starts with a procession and rosary.
During Mass, Father Rector asks: What if St. Ignatius didn't say 'YES'?
Servers of the day ...

Wacky ... wacky ...

Hey ... who's winning?
And there's FOOD ...
and more ... FOOD!

And ... MORE?!

IRON CHEF YEAR 4

SEMINARIANS CAN COOK!   When asked to vote for or against the holding of the IRON CHEF COMPETITION this year, SJVTS seminarians expressed their unanimous thumbs up.  The competition, organized by former rector Fr. Pops Repole is now on its 4th Season.  The event was made extra exciting as representative cooks from the different sub-communities awaited announcements regarding this year's common and secret ingredients.   The cooks eventually worked a lot of wonders with bangus and cassava.  At the end of the day, the Galileans were adjudged over-all champions followed by 2nd placer, San Lorenzo community.  This year's judges included Ms. Amphi Dinagasao, Ms. Glenda Demata and Mr. Gil Ty.

And the WINNERS are ... the GALILEANS ... with Fr. Raul Dael

So ... when do we eat? Tsk! Tsk!

SJVTS THEOLOGICAL HOUR

As part of its aim to promote dialogue between theology and the bigger society, the SJVTS Theological Forum held last July 29 took the theme:  POLITICS & THE CHURCH: CHALLENGES TO CHRISTIAN EVANGELIZATION.  Guest speakers during the forum were Mayor Romeo Tiongco of the Municipality of Damulog, Bukidnon and Bishop Emeritus of Malaybalay Honesto Pacana, SJ, DD.  Mayor Tiongco, who was just elected for a second term, stressed on the value of "ENGAGED CITIZENSHIP" while Bishop Pacana echoed the CBCP's thrust toward CRITICAL COLLABORATION. During the Open Forum, questions regarding the Church and government's stand on sex education, leadership and Christian witnessing issues made the forum extra interesting. Among the groups which attended the forum included the seminarians from the San Jose Seminary, the Ursulline Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Sons of the Divine Providence, campus ministers, etc. The Theological Forum was organized by the SJVTS Academic Liaisons Group headed by Seminarian Alfred Delfino.  (Photos by Sem.
