The HUGE crate, as big as a sarcophagus, was flown in from Manila. Everybody in the community knew that Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales donated a life-sized image of St. John Vianney to the seminary. But Lo! The box was heavier than anyone thought. All the more, the excitement to open the crate was building ... building up. Until finally, finally ... the image was more than life-sized! The beautiful sculpture of the Cure' of Ars now stands at the entrance of the SJVTS Main Chapel ... as if welcoming and enjoining everyone to enter the gates and worship the same God that had kept his vocation and priestly passions alive. Archbishop Antonio Ledesma blesses the image during the seminary's Holy Spirit mass at the beginning of the semester. St. John Vianney, pray for us!
